Hertz, Evatran Bringing Plugless Power EV Charging to NYAS

Hertz Global EV and its partner Evatran are showcasing the first wireless charging system for electric vehicles (EVs) in the car rental industry this week at the New York Auto Show taking place at the Jacob Javits Center. The first car rental company to introduce EVs on three continents, Hertz is on the ground floor of Plugless Power EV recharging technology and the Company’s goal is offer customers the cutting edge in EVs and recharging options. The Plugless Power trial, the first of its kind in the world, will help to establish the U.S. as the EV market leader. The trial will follow Hertz, and leaders from other industries, as it trials the Plugless Power system. Hertz is the first car-rental company to deploy EVs and PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric) on three continents — in the U.S. (available in New York, Washington, D.C., LA and San Francisco), the U.K. (available in London), and China (available in Shenzhen). Hertz is introducing multiple groups of consumers – urban drivers, university students, travelers and corporations – to all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Hertz plans to increase its global EV presence by deploying vehicles in other regions in the coming months.
