The Mechanicaland Nuclear Engineering Department of the College of Engineering seeksculturally and professionally diverse candidates to apply for Adjunct Faculty(open rank) position. Since its inception in 1996, the Virginia CommonwealthUniversity College of Engineering has brought innovative, real-worldengineering education to Central Virginia. Comprised of five differentdepartments plus the Dean's office, the College of Engineering enrolls morethan 1,700 undergraduate and 250 graduate students in several degree programssupported by approximately 550 full-time, part-time, and student employees. Description of the Job:

The Department of Mechanicaland Nuclear Engineering is recruiting for adjunct faculty members (open rank)to teach Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering courses including probabilistic riskassessment. Job duties will include:

-preparing and delivering lectures
-preparing and assigning homework problems and exams
-grading homework problems and exams and assigning final course grades
-holding office hours and answering student questions

Required Qualifications:

-MS, Ph.D., or Previous Work Experience in Mechanical or NuclearEngineering or a closely related field

-Excellent written and oral communications skills.
-Knowledge of nuclear energy and reactors

Preferred Qualifications:

-A minimum of five years ofrelevant academic experience

Salary Range: $1,654 per credit hour
